Outside of his work, Gunnar was an accomplished runner in his own right. As a longtime member of the renowned Miles Ahead Race Team, he competed in hundreds of races across New Jersey, consistently delivering impressive performances in events such as the Turkey Trot, the Spring Lake 5, and the prestigious Midland Run 15K. Fellow runners remember him as a determined competitor who approached every race with discipline, focus, and quiet confidence.
