Jim most recently served as Regional Vice President with the YMCA of Northern Alberta – Wood Buffalo, where he played an important role in supporting health, wellness, childcare, and community programs. Throughout his career, he also held leadership positions as General Manager of the Eastlink Centre in Grande Prairie and with the YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford. Earlier in his professional journey, he managed the GO Centre within Edmonton’s Saville Community Sports Centre and also worked with Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance. His commitment to building strong communities and creating welcoming spaces earned him the respect of colleagues and the countless people he served.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim will be remembered most for the person he was. Family described him as a loving son, devoted father, caring partner, and a true friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched many lives. He was someone who valued relationships deeply and made a lasting impact through his compassion, encouragement, and genuine care for others.
